Qualification Enhancing Project for the Lecturers of Legal English

CLL was invited to conduct activities for the USAID grant project at Grigol Robakidze University.

Grigol Robakidze University was awarded a USAID Rule of Law Program’s education grant, aiming at  enhancing the qualifications of lecturers of Legal English at six regional universities.

The project’s objectives include deepening lecturers’ understanding of key legal topics, helping them choose relevant lecture topics, improving their proficiency in Legal English, especially in legal terminology, to facilitate the effective communication of complex legal concepts to students, and promoting a better grasp of modern and effective teaching methodologies among lecturers. At the conclusion of the project, the syllabi for Legal English courses at all participating universities will be updated.

Training and Coaching will be provided by the Head of CLL, Khatia Tandilashvili. Project is scheduled to run until July 2024. Throughout the project, lecturers will have the opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of legal issues and effective legal English teaching methodologies through carefully planned activities.

By having highly qualified lecturers, regional law students will be more competitive in both the domestic and international job markets. Additionally, they will be able to create high-standard scientific papers using English-speaking legal resources and engage in English-speaking activities.
